Beaver-rooted chain adding new franchisees in Pittsburgh and across the country
PITTSBURGH — The proud tradition of scooping freshly made Bruster’s Real Ice Cream will return to Gibsonia Saturday, June 17. Glenn Pilarski of Hampton is the new owner of the favorite neighborhood gathering spot at 4937 William Flynn Highway/Route 8.
“It’s been my dream to own an ice cream store because people always come happy,” said Glenn Pilarski. “And I know from experience that Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is the best by far. When the shop became available, I jumped at the chance to buy it.”
Glenn’s daughter, Sara Pilarski, will co-manage the Bruster’s shop. The family has called Hampton home for more than 20 years.
“Bruster’s has a reputation for community involvement, and I cannot wait to give back to the many organizations that share our love of ice cream,” added Glenn. Over the years, he has coached basketball, baseball and softball teams.
Sara is passionate about mentoring the young scoopers, many of whom will call Bruster’s their first job. “We’re already talking about how to create great crew leaders and offer great customer service.”
Bruster’s return to Gibsonia follows the March opening of a new shop in Robinson Township. The chain also is expanding in Arizona, California, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland and Massachusetts.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is made the old-fashioned way from ingredients that are slow kettle processed and designed specifically to create the Bruster’s flavor. It all starts with a proprietary home-style mix, delivered fresh from Bruster’s dairy to each store, where small artisan batches are made on site daily by Certified Ice Cream Makers. The prestigious national Consumer Picks survey has ranked Bruster’s a top-10 limited service restaurant five years running.
At least 24 ice cream flavors are always ready to be enjoyed in crunchy, handmade waffle cones, sundaes, candy-filled blasts and thick milkshakes. Freezes, Italian ices, sherbets, sorbets and frozen yogurt, as well as fat-free and no-sugar-added treats, are also available. Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry are always on hand, along with seasonal and crowd favorites. Guests can even request their favorite flavor be made for them.
Cakes and pies are offered for every occasion, along with pints, quarts and half gallons. Catering services will make events truly special.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream features 150 flavors of premium, handcrafted ice cream, yogurt, Italian ice and sorbet.
